Funny Story

Today I took the kids to the store and had a sweater on. When we left, I put both kids in the car and stood outside my door to take off my sweater because it was HOT. As I took my sweater off, I said "shoowee...it's hot out here!" I turned around and see this sweet little asian man walking towards me. I was wondering what he was doing. I tried to explain that I did not say "excuse me . . . I said Shoowee." He responded "no... my name is Shu Wi...I thought maybe we knew each other." I apologized for the confusion, got in the car and died laughing. What are the odds.....

This year we went to San Destin, FL for the SEC conference with Will's work.  Will had to work most of the time, but we still had a great time!  It was neat getting an opportunity to meet the people he works with and their families.  I think this will be a trip we look forward to each year. :)

Catelyn has completed her first year of school and is no longer a Kindergartener. I am so proud of how well she has done.  We had to move her in the middle of the school year and she was so brave and handled it brilliantly. She was sad to leave her friends at Rocky Hill and Mrs. Duke, but she did awesome making new friends in Miss Woods class at Cahaba Heights Elementary.  Awesome job Catelyn!!

My Little Girl is 6!

Catelyn turns 6 years old today! Wow!!  She is such a beautiful little girl with the sweetest heart.  She has tons of energy and is so creative.  She is doing fantastic in Kindergarten and is reading at a first grade level.  She has very nice handwriting (which she has worked very hard on) and draws really well.  She recently got her report card and received perfect marks!! She makes friends super easy and is very compassionate towards others.  She is great with her brother and loves being his "little mommy"- although it can get her in trouble at times. :)  She is great at puzzles and legos and likes playing with her Barbies, baby Kelly and Squinkies. She is a great sleeper and likes to sleep with her pink blanket and a night light.  She picks out her own clothes and dresses herself each day, along with flossing and brushing her teeth. She can ride her bike without training wheels and mastered it in one day.  She is so smart! She is a big helper to me and loves doing any type of art project. She is in a booster seat in the car and gets so excited when she gets to ride with Daddy.  We are super proud of our little girl and love her so very much!  Happy Birthday Catelyn!

Star of the Week!

Catelyn was chosen this weeks "Star of the Week!"  She is so very proud and so very excited to hold this honor!  When chosen to be "The Star," you make a poster of your family and the things you love.  Catelyn chose to put Tinkerbell all over her poster and multiple pics of the family (or at least pictures we could find, considering the majority of our belongings are still in boxes :) ).  She could not wait to take it to school and show her class.  Great job Star of the Week!!

Happy Birthday to Me!

I turn 34 today.  Oh my.  For my birthday, Will is taking me to see the Jersey Boys in September and I. am. so. excited!!  I've been wanting to see this play for about 6 years.  Thanks babe for the great gift!
