The Beach

This year we went to San Destin, FL for the SEC conference with Will's work.  Will had to work most of the time, but we still had a great time!  It was neat getting an opportunity to meet the people he works with and their families.  I think this will be a trip we look forward to each year. :)

Catelyn has completed her first year of school and is no longer a Kindergartener. I am so proud of how well she has done.  We had to move her in the middle of the school year and she was so brave and handled it brilliantly. She was sad to leave her friends at Rocky Hill and Mrs. Duke, but she did awesome making new friends in Miss Woods class at Cahaba Heights Elementary.  Awesome job Catelyn!!

My Little Girl is 6!

Catelyn turns 6 years old today! Wow!!  She is such a beautiful little girl with the sweetest heart.  She has tons of energy and is so creative.  She is doing fantastic in Kindergarten and is reading at a first grade level.  She has very nice handwriting (which she has worked very hard on) and draws really well.  She recently got her report card and received perfect marks!! She makes friends super easy and is very compassionate towards others.  She is great with her brother and loves being his "little mommy"- although it can get her in trouble at times. :)  She is great at puzzles and legos and likes playing with her Barbies, baby Kelly and Squinkies. She is a great sleeper and likes to sleep with her pink blanket and a night light.  She picks out her own clothes and dresses herself each day, along with flossing and brushing her teeth. She can ride her bike without training wheels and mastered it in one day.  She is so smart! She is a big helper to me and loves doing any type of art project. She is in a booster seat in the car and gets so excited when she gets to ride with Daddy.  We are super proud of our little girl and love her so very much!  Happy Birthday Catelyn!

Star of the Week!

Catelyn was chosen this weeks "Star of the Week!"  She is so very proud and so very excited to hold this honor!  When chosen to be "The Star," you make a poster of your family and the things you love.  Catelyn chose to put Tinkerbell all over her poster and multiple pics of the family (or at least pictures we could find, considering the majority of our belongings are still in boxes :) ).  She could not wait to take it to school and show her class.  Great job Star of the Week!!

Happy Birthday to Me!

I turn 34 today.  Oh my.  For my birthday, Will is taking me to see the Jersey Boys in September and I. am. so. excited!!  I've been wanting to see this play for about 6 years.  Thanks babe for the great gift!

Playing with Cars

There is a small pile of dirt that gathers in our driveway and it is Tripp's favorite spot. He will sit with his cars for long periods of time just pushing his cars around. Love how much he loves being out doors.

Funny Girl!

Catelyn got up this morning all dressed for school, walked up and stood in front of me and said "mom...don't you want to take my picture?" Of course...what else could I be thinking about at 6:30 in the morning?  Love this sweet, crazy girl!!

Tripp's Last Day

Tripp finishes up 2 year old preschool today.  He has grown so much and loves going to school.  He had a bit of a rough start but finished off strong.  He can count to 20 and likes art projects.  He loves his friends and really does well on a schedule.  He is worn out and ready for nap as soon as he gets home.  He tells me each afternoon what he ate for lunch- (peanut butter) samich, crackies,  juice and appy sauce. He'll be going to summer school two days a week and is excited about that.  He is a smart little boy and is pretty cautious (we went to the park the other day and before sliding down the slide, he bent and touched it and said "too hot!" then went and found something else to do).  He learns quick and understands directions well---whether or not he choses to follow those directions is a different story. :)  Definitely a smart kid and we're very proud of him

Tinkerbell & Pirate Party

It's party time for Catelyn and Tripp!  This year we had a Tinkerbell and Pirate party.  Catelyn chose her theme right after her birthday last year and did not waiver even one time throughout the year.  We decided to double up their party again this year and they were both so excited about it.  We decided that pirates were the perfect thing to go along with Tink, so we ran with it!  The party couldn't have gone smoother.  Catelyn and I decorated cardboard cake stands and we got excited choosing the paper goods at the store. We found both Tink and pirate tatoos & cups, fairy wings, pirate patches, silly straws and balloons.  We had the jump house set up for the kids to play in, and we had sand buckets to go digging for treasures.  Pizza, fruit and cupcakes were served and the company was great!  Nannie and Pawpaw, Jack & Pop, Rudy and Lance, Sarah, Clayton, Ann Wilson, Charlie & Alex and Mamaw were our guests and it was a great day!
