Christmas Fun!

* Our FAVORITE Christmas Present!!!!

Sunday afternoon, me, Will and Catelyn went to church, came home and had our little Christmas at the house, had a quick visit with my parents, then packed up our stuff and headed to Montevallo to spend Christmas with Will's family. We had such a good time, and got lots of fun new things. Catelyn had so much fun she wore her little self out. It was really good getting to spend some quality time with Mamma Jack, Pops and Rudy- along with the great grandparents and great aunt and uncle. Will and I are so blessed to have two awesome sets of families!!
Here are a couple of pics from the holiday. Hope everyone else had a Merry Christmas too. Have a safe and Happy New Year!

So excited about my present!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

What an awesome time of year! Since having Catelyn, it has hit home more than ever what an amazing thing God did for us. I look at her sweet face, and feel the overwhelming love in my heart, and am absolutely blown away at the unbelievable sacrifice God gave to us through His Son. I can't imagine giving Catelyn up for anyone, yet God gave his only Son for me. Wow!! What an awesome God we serve! I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas holiday as we celebrate the birth of our Savior. Merry Christmas!!

Happy Holidays

Catelyn is such a trooper. I had her bundled up like the poor kid on The Christmas Story. She just smiled the whole time. Such a sweet little girl!!!

Life Group Kiddos

We have a group of eight couples that meet on Sunday nights to talk about the sermon and things like that. The people in this group have become some of the most precious people to me. Four of the couples (including myself) have had babies recently, and while visiting with our newest mommy, we had this photo opp that we could not refuse. From left to right is Brooks (5 weeks), Catelyn (6 months), Kate (3 months), and sweet little Graham who is one week old tomorrow. Could our kids get any cutter?!!!!

Happy Halloween!!

Every year, our neighborhood has a Halloween block party! The house where it's hosted grills hot dogs, and all the neighbors bring a side dish. The kids come dressed in their adorable costumes, go for hayrides and then we all disperse to go trick-or-treating. This is only the second year we've gone, but we had such a good time. It's been so great getting to know more of our neighbors, and than of course this year- we have Catelyn! She couldn't have been a more precious lady bug!!! She did so great! She just looked around and took everything in. After a while she fell asleep, and then we took her on home around 6:30 for her dinner. It amazes me how much more fun things are just by her being around. It was also fun, because our friends Patrick, Leslie and their two kids, came over to hang out with us too! It was a great first Halloween for Catelyn and us too! Happy Halloween!

The Spooky Trail

Today, Will and I took Catelyn over to the "spooky trail" that the Vestavia library puts on. It's basically a nature walk with pumpkins and cobwebs and stuff. It was really fun being outside, and getting to spend some quality time with our little family. Catelyn had a ball, talking and squealing up a storm. After that we all three went home and took a nap. Ya gotta love a Sunday afternoon! :)

Great Weekend!!

This past Friday, me, my mom and Catelyn headed over to the Aldridge Botanical Gardens to see the pretty flowers and scarecrows the local businesses and schools had made. It was such perfect fall weather, and we had a great time being outside in it. We got a little camera happy, but there where so many photo ops, we just couldn't pass any by. After we got home, we made caramel popcorn balls, and I taught mom how to crochet. That night, mom gave Will and I a real treat and watched Catelyn while we went out on a date!! We ate some yummy dinner, walked at the Summit, and sat and read at Barnes & Noble. We definitely know how addicted we are to our little girl when we looked at the clock, realized it was 7:30 and said "if we leave right now, we can still get home in time to put Catelyn to bed." What can we say, we're hooked on that precious little girl! Anyways, the next morning mom and I got up and went to garage sales, where I found lots of fun buys. Later, Jackie (Will's mom) met up with us and we all got some lunch at Hamburger Heaven. Around 4:00, my brother (who was visiting from NC) came over with my dad and we grilled out hotdogs and watched football. It was a wonderful weekend with my family, and we had a really great time!

Happy 4 Month Birthday Catelyn!

I can't believe that four months have already gone by with our sweet little girl. It seems like she's been with us always- I cannot imagine our life without her. It's also been fun watching Will with her. He is such a great dad! He's so sweet to her and she absolutely adores her daddy. It's cute watching her get all smiles whenever he comes home. She definitely has daddy wrapped around her finger. :) So, in honor of our little ones four month birthday, I'll take this opportunity to brag about her a little. She is such a GOOD baby!!! I know we're still in the "easy" phase where she can't crawl or walk herself into trouble, but even still... she's such a sweetheart. She plays so contentedly, talks and giggles all the time, loves attention but likes to play by herself some too, and is learning so much everyday. We love the way she will play with you one on one, or just sit on your lap and take in her surroundings. She's wonderful! I thank God so much for her. Anyways, Happy 4 month Birthday Catelyn! We love you very much!!

Cereal & Applesauce

Yesterday was Catelyn's 4 month doctor's appointment. She had to get more of the dreaded shots, and I actually think it was worse watching this time than the last. I guess it never does get easier, especially when they do the face that turns all red, you know their gonna cry but no sound comes out, cry. Trully heartbreaking!!! Anyways, she is doing wonderful and has hit all the milestones for her age. Yea Catelyn!!! She weighs 11.15 lbs, and is 24.25 inches long. The doctor told us it's time to start cereal and fruit. I was pretty excited about this, although I had no idea what a challenge it would be to insert a spoon with sustanance on it, into my child's mouth. WOW!!! I think the pictures will say it all! Anyways, I'm very proud of our little girl, and am absolutely blown away at how fast she is growing. It's such a cliche', since that's what every other mom says about her baby- but it's so true!! She's super fun though and I am still LOVING being a momma!

Step 1) Into the bumbo to start our meal.

Step 2) Out of the bumbo and into the bouncy seat to try again to start our meal. :)

Step 3) Teaching Catelyn that only the spoon goes into the mouth, not spoon & hand!

Step 4) Keeping food in mouth. (easier said than done. ha!)

Step 5) Dirty bib, dirty face & hands, and no pants later...All done!! Whew!!!

Roll Tide & Go State!!!

WOW...what an awesome weekend!! It was so much fun getting to have such great hang time with my family. Unfortunately, Will had to work, so Catelyn and I drove to Tuscaloosa Friday afternoon to meet up with mom, Sarah and Clayton. We did a little shopping and met up with dad and Graham (my brother-n-law) later on in the evening for some pizza at Mellow Mushroom. Saturday was such a relaxing day. Mom and I headed out early to find some garage sales and then came on back to the house to shower up and head to the quad. We all had on our crimson and white and had a ball. We ate BBQ and ice cream, watched MS State beat Auburn (whoohoo!!!) and cheered on the players as they marched into the stadium. Mom and I took Clayton home with us, while Sarah and Graham went to the game. When we got to the house, we changed into some comfy clothes, made some cheese dip and turned to ESPN to get ready for kick off...and WOW, what a game!!! I couldn't sit still. I finally resorted to pacing around as that nail biter of a game came to its glorious conclusion!!! I pretty much crashed after that. Sunday, I hung out with the family and started back for Birmingham around 9:00 (Catelyn and I both missed Will/Daddy a whole lot!!!). Fortunately, Will didn't have to go back to the office, so we grabbed some lunch and took Catelyn to the park. It was fun getting to spend some time together before the week starts back. I hope everyone else had a great weekend too. ROLL TIDE!!

Fall is on it's Way!!!

I think fall is my favorite season. I love the way the leaves start to fall, and how it feels so great outside, and of course...football season. This week, Catelyn and I have gone on many a walk with friends enjoying the much cooler weather. Catelyn usually falls asleep, but I can't say that I blame her. This weekend we're headed to T-town to cheer on the Tide and see my parents. I'm really looking forward to Catelyn being all decked out in the crimson and white and experiencing the quad on gameday. I'm also looking forward to hanging out with my family. My sister and her husband, along with their son Clayton, will be there too- so it should make for a great weekend. I'm sure I'll have plenty of pictures to post come Monday. Have a great weekend, and ROLL TIDE!!!!!...Oh, and GO STATE! - that's specifically for you Will, Pops and Momma Jack :)
