Happy 4 Month Birthday Catelyn!

I can't believe that four months have already gone by with our sweet little girl. It seems like she's been with us always- I cannot imagine our life without her. It's also been fun watching Will with her. He is such a great dad! He's so sweet to her and she absolutely adores her daddy. It's cute watching her get all smiles whenever he comes home. She definitely has daddy wrapped around her finger. :) So, in honor of our little ones four month birthday, I'll take this opportunity to brag about her a little. She is such a GOOD baby!!! I know we're still in the "easy" phase where she can't crawl or walk herself into trouble, but even still... she's such a sweetheart. She plays so contentedly, talks and giggles all the time, loves attention but likes to play by herself some too, and is learning so much everyday. We love the way she will play with you one on one, or just sit on your lap and take in her surroundings. She's wonderful! I thank God so much for her. Anyways, Happy 4 month Birthday Catelyn! We love you very much!!

Cereal & Applesauce

Yesterday was Catelyn's 4 month doctor's appointment. She had to get more of the dreaded shots, and I actually think it was worse watching this time than the last. I guess it never does get easier, especially when they do the face that turns all red, you know their gonna cry but no sound comes out, cry. Trully heartbreaking!!! Anyways, she is doing wonderful and has hit all the milestones for her age. Yea Catelyn!!! She weighs 11.15 lbs, and is 24.25 inches long. The doctor told us it's time to start cereal and fruit. I was pretty excited about this, although I had no idea what a challenge it would be to insert a spoon with sustanance on it, into my child's mouth. WOW!!! I think the pictures will say it all! Anyways, I'm very proud of our little girl, and am absolutely blown away at how fast she is growing. It's such a cliche', since that's what every other mom says about her baby- but it's so true!! She's super fun though and I am still LOVING being a momma!

Step 1) Into the bumbo to start our meal.

Step 2) Out of the bumbo and into the bouncy seat to try again to start our meal. :)

Step 3) Teaching Catelyn that only the spoon goes into the mouth, not spoon & hand!

Step 4) Keeping food in mouth. (easier said than done. ha!)

Step 5) Dirty bib, dirty face & hands, and no pants later...All done!! Whew!!!

Roll Tide & Go State!!!

WOW...what an awesome weekend!! It was so much fun getting to have such great hang time with my family. Unfortunately, Will had to work, so Catelyn and I drove to Tuscaloosa Friday afternoon to meet up with mom, Sarah and Clayton. We did a little shopping and met up with dad and Graham (my brother-n-law) later on in the evening for some pizza at Mellow Mushroom. Saturday was such a relaxing day. Mom and I headed out early to find some garage sales and then came on back to the house to shower up and head to the quad. We all had on our crimson and white and had a ball. We ate BBQ and ice cream, watched MS State beat Auburn (whoohoo!!!) and cheered on the players as they marched into the stadium. Mom and I took Clayton home with us, while Sarah and Graham went to the game. When we got to the house, we changed into some comfy clothes, made some cheese dip and turned to ESPN to get ready for kick off...and WOW, what a game!!! I couldn't sit still. I finally resorted to pacing around as that nail biter of a game came to its glorious conclusion!!! I pretty much crashed after that. Sunday, I hung out with the family and started back for Birmingham around 9:00 (Catelyn and I both missed Will/Daddy a whole lot!!!). Fortunately, Will didn't have to go back to the office, so we grabbed some lunch and took Catelyn to the park. It was fun getting to spend some time together before the week starts back. I hope everyone else had a great weekend too. ROLL TIDE!!

Fall is on it's Way!!!

I think fall is my favorite season. I love the way the leaves start to fall, and how it feels so great outside, and of course...football season. This week, Catelyn and I have gone on many a walk with friends enjoying the much cooler weather. Catelyn usually falls asleep, but I can't say that I blame her. This weekend we're headed to T-town to cheer on the Tide and see my parents. I'm really looking forward to Catelyn being all decked out in the crimson and white and experiencing the quad on gameday. I'm also looking forward to hanging out with my family. My sister and her husband, along with their son Clayton, will be there too- so it should make for a great weekend. I'm sure I'll have plenty of pictures to post come Monday. Have a great weekend, and ROLL TIDE!!!!!...Oh, and GO STATE! - that's specifically for you Will, Pops and Momma Jack :)

Good Morning!

This morning, I got Catelyn out of her crib and decided we needed to spend the morning outside. It felt SO great, and I couldn't resist. It's been so hot over the past month, that the cool morning air was relaxing. Catelyn had never been in the grass, so I thought this morning would be a great time for a new experience. She made some funny faces at first, but then was pretty intrigued by the feel of it all. It was fun snapping pictures and getting some "aw that's cute looks," and some "what on earth are they doing?" looks from the people passing by. ha! Anyways, I better get the pics posted before 'little bit' wakes up!

Labor Day at the Beach

Will & I, Catelyn, Mamma Jack and Pops (Will's parents) all headed to the beach this past weekend for some much needed rest and relaxation. I couldn't have asked for a more relaxing time. The weather was beautiful, and the food was outstanding!!!! Catelyn did so great and slept until 7 o'clock two mornings (normally she's a 6 o'clock girl). During the day we hung out at the beach, ate at some fantastic restaurants and went to the outlets. It was really fun watching Catelyn experience everything too. She's such a laid back little punkin'. I think I got more of a kick out of everything than she did. We played in the pool, took a dip in the ocean and put our toes in the sand. It was too much fun, and of course the camera went along for all of it. It was also fun getting to watch the grand-parents with her. I think they are as addicted as we are :) We did have one little blunder on our trip home. There was a wreck that covered the whole road. Fortunately, no one was hurt, but it put us at a stand still for two hours. We took advantage of the time and got Catelyn out of her car seat and played for a while. We even let her have a turn driving (you'll see in the pics- ha!). Anyways, the trip was wonderful, and hopefully this time it won't take us so long to get back. Enjoy the pics!
